At the middle school where I teach, we have a day every month in which we put aside to reward students for good, behavior, attendence and grades. We call it a “fun day”. This day may consist of a movie, games, etc. The students that do not meet the requirements are sent to a designated classroom, where they complete missing assignments
My question is: Does this really make the “unruly” kids want to behave or does this build up resentment toward the “good” kids that always qualify? Please share your thoughts.

I’m not sure that the unruly children react to the same type of incentives that the other children do. However, it would seem unfair to take the “fun” consequences away from the ones that are behaving. I can’t honestly believe that the unruly ones care enough to try to earn the good priveledges. just my 2 ce nts.
